Thumbs up The new Lost In Space on Netflix

I've watched three episodes so far and it's really good.

The family unit is really well defined. They have their flaws and problems but there's that familial bond and love at the centre that makes them pull together.

The jeopardy is really well done. It escalates really well and the solutions are well thought out.

I don't know how much this thing cost, but looking at the credits, they've got VFX houses that have worked on blockbusters.

The Robot is great, sometimes it's CG and sometimes a practical suit.

'Dr Smith' appears to be a sociopath and I'm wondering how her arc is going to play out over the remaining eps.

They use the original third season theme by John Williams just at the right moments!

Got to episode 5 and it is begining to really remind me of Terra Nova. In fact it really is. Nothing like the original Lost In Space.

There were shades of the 2004 pilot. I can see a bit of Terra Nova. I was also reminded of the 90's Earth 2. Still, though it's far from perfect, it's the best "reimagining" of a classic SF show in... ever.

I've only seen a couple Earth 2s, but Maureen was like Devon from that series. It's a longway from being LISINO, though.

Soon as I get my Netflix account back up, I'll have to check this out.

Tell me though, what is the story with Penny? (or the character that is supposed to be Penny). Is she adopted? Entrusted to the Robinsons by some older friends? Is she even Penny at all? Her appearance in the trailers suggests that to me.

Penny is John and Maureen's daughter. I'm guessing you mean Judy who is black and not Penny. Judy is the natural daughter of Maureen born before John Robinson "was in the picture." That's as much as they explain. Her biological father isn't mentioned.

Obviously you didn't pay attention the last time.

Grab yourself an aluminium pie pan, drill a hole the size of the tip of the antenna and stick the pan on the antenna, Then tie two copper wires around the tip and wrap them down to the base of the antenna and hook a 9 volt battery to that sucker. Finally aim the pie pan in a north west direction. Make fine tune adjustments by having someone turn on the TV, set it to channel 3, and watch for those Netflix to pop up on the menu screen.

Oh, I thought that was Penny, she liked the youngest of the two in the teasers. Ah, well....I will definitely check this show out. (I'm one of the few who actually liked the LiS movie from the 90's.)

Noooooo. All you'll pick up that way is CNN and granny porn. I know, kind of the same thing. You must follow Neuro's directions to the letter, or you'll pee your pants like I did.
