  1. Everyone to the far ends of the see-saw!

I am so not looking forward to the next 11 months. The incessant political ads accusing the candidates of emulating Hitler or Stalin or, even worse, George W. Bush. How if you vote for THAT candidate, you will personally have a hand in the utter destruction of America, while a vote for THIS one will miraculously restore this nation to its former glory.

I see it on Facebook already. Some really mean-spirited images that paint Republicans, in particular, as small-minded war-mongers who ...

  2. Waxing Philosophical

I can't, in all honesty, claim that Battlestar Galactica, the sci-fi icon beloved by many, is actually dead. Look at the new miniatures and action figures that are still coming out, 33 years after the show's last episode, proving there is still profit to be made. Look at the fanfic that is still being written. Battlestar Galactica lives among its fans.

But the fight over it is done.

And like Firefly's Browncoats, we are on the losing side - but it wasn't necessarily the ...
  3. Clapton is God.

Many years ago, there was a graffiti on a London wall that claimed Eric Clapton had a bit of the divine within him.

After watching - no, experiencing - him on stage for something better than an hour, I can attest he hasn't lost a step in all those years. Not one missed note, song after song after song. The man knows how to make a guitar become something more than just a musical instrument.

    I'm a believer.

    Clapton is God.

  4. Blog Entry No. 1 - I posted a fanfic for the first time in ages.

If you check out my personal site - Dawg's House - or go over to Colonial Fleets, you'll see I've posted a new fanfic. It's the first I've done in a very long time, and it's been in process for that very long time.

And there may be a sequel, if it's well received.

Why did it take so long? You probably shouldn't ask such personal questions. But if you want an answer I'll give you one: Death, Depression, Stress, Unemployment, Employment, Stress, More Unemployment, Illness, ...
  5. Why aren't people watching Chuck?

Last night (24/05/10), NBC-broadcast spy dramedy, Chuck, recorded its lowest rating of its three-year run.

And I have to say WTF?

If you don't know already, Chuck is about twenty-something Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), who works in an electrical goods store after being expelled from university. Chuck becomes an agent or 'asset' for the CIA and NSA, when a secret intelligence database, the Intersect, gets transferred into his noggin through an email from an old university ...
