I liked this, even though the reasoning behind Lara and Zor-El's return was kind of sloppy (to say the least).
Helen Slater is really good as Lara and I hope somehow she manages to turn up again.
What's really starting to grate his the difference in personality of the Fortress Jor-El and the "real" Jor-El. it's about time this was addressed.
The ending if this week's ep was intriguing. I've read Mark McClure turns up soon. Seems like the Superman: The Movie mythos is the gift that keeps on giving, and long may it be so.

Peter -
This episode was "so-so" for me... I did enjoy seeing Helen Slater again, she looks amazing considering it's been 23 years since I saw her in Supergirl.
Some of the plot was confusing as we never really found out who/what "Lara" really was. They kept saying that Kal-El's real mother died and that she couldn't be real, but she sure seemed to be for the most part.
As for the blue kryptonite, I didn't think that kryptonite existed until the planet blew up and created all those varieties of it. It didn't make sense to me that a ring made of a mineral that shouldn't exist would be able to take away Clark's powers.
The whole "family" relationship thing is getting pretty wonky - both on the Kryptonian side as well as the human side. It's funny how when Krypton exploded, there didn't appear to be too many survivors and now they keep turning up on the same planet with amazing regularity.
The bit about Lex having a brother just seemed to push this kind of thing over the edge. Yet another hidden/unknown relationship that appears out of nowhere and complicate the plot just that much more. Isn't anyone in this show who they really say they are?
I know....I'm picking nits, but just for once, I would like to see one episode where the audience isn't thrown a curveball.

I was a little suprised by this ep, in both directions.
I ended up liking the recreation of Lara, but other elements, like Louis and Julious/Editor is getting tiresome. I was worried that bringing in the element of CK's mother would be just too much, but it was done alright.
Gemini1999-
The Julious Luthor storyline is actually not new, as it was addressed a few seasons back. I don't have the box sets to go back and check if it is played by the same actor, but this was definitely one of the better suprises for this season, as it builds on something that was there before.
Also, Lara appeared to be a clone of the real Lara El, probably created from the fortress's material, just like the fake eclipse was actually water molecules forming to block the sun. All apparently, Zor El's technology.
As for the different rocks, it is entirely possibly that Zor El and others had brought pieces of Krypton here to Earth before and tested them, much like we take stuff up with the shuttle. Just a theory.
As for the rest...
Its obvious that Lana is headed for a meltdown, though I don't know from what and why? Was she infused with the Luthor virus or something. I don't understand why both her and Lex are now both headed down the same path.
And where is the JLA? Did they disband after only a season?
And who is the black goo... Is that Milton Fine again?
Weird season, to say the least!

It is hard to figure. Right now I'd say the Black Goo is a part of Braniac that needs a host-hense it went for the lab assistant.
The editor being Julian Luthor?-Interesting. And he seems interested in Lois. In the comics it was Lex that had a thing for Lois, but I guess that since Lex had Lana here he's not too interested in Lois...yet.
Kara has a swiss cheese memory again. And she's in Detroit.
The 'real' Jor-El and the voice do seem different. And yet it seems that Zor-El was talking about 'ruling' Earth. Could the 'ruling' be a program corruption or something? And what's the Fortress going to do with Clark?
And I liked Helen Slater as Lara. Hopefully that brief talk she and Lana had will serve as a warning to Lana not to get too far dark.
Was this the last episode ended before the strike started?

Very confusing episode.
So Jor-El had the ability to transport Lara through time. So why couldn't he do the same thing before Krypton exploded?
Compared to the first seasons, these episodes are moving way too fast--sometimes without sufficient explanations being given!!
I did like the fact that they picked up on Lex's brother (as it was referenced in an eartlier season).
And I also liked it that Kara is now amnesic.
But what I really want to see most of all is Lex's dark side taking over completely. Now that they have made Lana partially evil is detracting from Lex's total conversion. Let's hope they follow through on this before the season's end as I hear that Lex might not be returning next season (and that would be a shame!).

I did read that professor Fine/ Braniac will be back for a few episodes. The JL will also make an appearance as Green Arrow goes toe to toe with an old nemesis.
