My wife recently bought some frozen wings (trying to save money compared to ording some from a restaurant). It turns out that I didn't really like the wings.

So, tonight she wanted to have those wings. As an option for myself, I decided to make some wings from scratch and I had this recipe:

I didn't use the sauce, but did use this preparation method. These were the BEST wings I have ever tasted. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender without being greasy. It's a little time consuming, but otherwise very simple.

I'm definitely making these again.

I found that the biggest problem with making wings at home is the smell. My house smelled like buffalo wings for a week. My husband loves them, but I'll never make them at home again.

Calli, this preperation method didn't leave any lingering odor. When you fry or bake wings, there is a lot of moisture and fat content in the wings that cause problems. The moisture causes problems with frying and causes lots of vaporous material to be ejected from the fryer. If you try to just stick wings in the oven, the excessive fat causes a smoke problem. Both of these stink up the house.

With this method, the excess fat is sweated off in the steaming process and the meat gets mostly cooked there. After they're left to dry and are put in the oven for the baking process, there is just enough fat in the wings to create a nice crispy skin.

We had no lingering odor whatsoever.

Cool...I think I'll give your recipe a try. My husband will be ecstatic!
