Got this PS3 game for my birthday, and Monalisa and I played it all day today!
It's so much damn fun!
If other PS3 owners here pick it up, let me know, and I'll figure out how to play online! :D

This is near the top of my wish list. Great for partys ETC I'm told.
How do the controllers respond?
Have you ever played Scene it for the X-box 360? If so how does it compare?

Extremely well. There's a USB receiver (looks like a thumb drive) that plugs into the front of the PS3. AT that point, you don't even need the Sony game controller... the Buzz Buzzers do everything, and response is instantaneous.

Dude, I haven't played video games since the Atari 2600. Well, that first Nintendo console in the early '90s. ;)
So, no, never played Scene It. But Buzz is just loads of fun, from my perspective the graphics are great, the sound is great, it looks fantastic on my 50" DLP HDTV. I can see where this would be fun at parties... and, just like real game shows, no matter who's ahead, anybody can take it in the final round.
And apparently the game downloads updated questions and answers from the 'Net, so the game is always different. I no longer miss "You Don't Know Jack."

I'm curious are the controllers Blue tooth like the regular PS3 controllers or UV or RF.
When I've played scene it on the 360 at the nighbors the wireless signals get blocked by kids walking between the USB receiver and the controller. VERY frustrating when there is a close game!

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it's bluetooth, unless the USB dongle is pre-paired. I didn't have to manually pair anything. I also doubt that it's UV, because there's no sign of an emitter on the controller, nor a reciever on the USB dongle.
My guess would be RF, but... again... if the four controllers that come with the bundle are pre-paired, it could be Bluetooth. I know that it didn't matter how I was holding the controller, or whether it was pointed at the box.
Neighboring signals certainly didn't interfere, but I didn't have anyone walking between me and the box.

I'm not too smart. if it was blu-tooth it wouldn't need the USB dongle because PS# would has the transmitter/reciever built in

Of course. It must be RF, then.
Yes... just Googled, which I should have done in the first place:
Utilise RF technology (no inteference with DS3/Sixaxis and Blutooth operation)

RF.
Is this like a version of Buzz Jr? I've played Buzz Jr. with my kids.

I'm eagerly awaiting getting my copy of BQTV. Also, on the Playstation Network, there are some downloadable add-ons for BQTV, including a Science Fiction add on which has about 500 questions pertaining to science fiction stuff. :)

Update. I just got my copy, and downloaded the sci-fi add on. :)
BTW, I also have Scene It for Xbox 360, and it's a fun game too. I hope they release a Harry Potter and Star Wars expansion for it.

Thanks for the heads-up on the SciFi pack, Steve. I'll be getting it, as well!

I've been trying to talk my roomies into getting into a round of this game, and they're interested, it's just that we never get around to it.
I am also thinking about downloading Jeopardy, which is also available on PSN. :)
And, you're welcome, Bill. Hopefully the sci-fi pack will have a good variety of sci-fi questions. I haven't even tried my copy of BQTV until either we (you, Monalisa, and I) can get a game going, or until my roomies actually decide to sit down with me and give it a go. (I do not wish to have an unfair advantage over my roomies.)

I think it might just be you and me for starters, Steve. Monalisa is running like crazy before she leaves for a couple of weeks in Panama right after election day.
Give me a couple of days to get some things sorted out, and free up some time... but I'm looking forward to it! I did try to download the SciFi pack last night, but I kept getting an error trying to connect to the store.
I think the servers were down in advance of the firmware updates that went out today for both the PS3 and the PSP. I'll try again tonight.

I wish Monalisa a safe trip. :)
Take your time on the schedule. I know you are a busy man.
And you're right, the servers were down to do the firmware upgrades. One of the new effects of this most recent firmware upgrade for PS3 is that you can now play any videos you have on the hard drive sequentially.
I love my PSP's too. I recently converted (please forgive mention of this, Bill) the episode of GINO where the Galactica rescues its crew and charges off of New Caprica, (this was just a test) and I also converted "Revenge of the Sith" down to where they will play as MP4s on an 8GB memory stick, and play back on my PSP (and will playback on my PS3 as well). The picture quality is really good. Slightly below DVD, but definitely better than VHS. And, with that three and half hours of content on the stick, I still have 7GB's left on it. (Funny thing about the Revenge of the Sith conversion, the opening crawl repeats two more times, in two different languages before the movie finally starts. LOL!)
I can see a LOT of 8GB memory sticks in my future....and a LOT of DVD converting. I may pick up some memory sticks specifically for certain film series. (Alien Quadrilogy, the Die Hard movies, both Star Wars trilogies, the classic Galactica pilot, the Firefly series --I already have Serenity on UMD, which is the disc format for Playstation Portable.-- and etc.)
Again, please, take your time. You've lots to do, I'm sure. Oh, and I see you got a trophy on BQTV. It's a mystery trophy apparently, known only to you I'm sure, because it comes up as ??? when I view it. In any case, congratulations on your first trophy on PS3.
Well, I have to go get ready to sing. Do stay in touch. Perhaps we'll even voice chat sometime on the PS3. Ian and I had a couple of voice chats, but there was always a volume problem.
Take care, and all the best,
Steve

Steve...
My Apple TV is still my dedicated video playback unit... it just works better with my Mac, router, and EyeTV. So far, PS3 playback has just been DVD and Blu-ray.
The trophy was for a "Flawless Round" in BQTV... apparently I got every question right.
I've downloaded the SciFi Pack for BQTV.
What do you need for voicechat? A specific headset? Or any USB headset? Or does it have to be Bluetooth?

Congratulations on your (ominous Mortal Kombat voice) "flawless victory". :D
Ok, for voice chat, you can use a USB headset, or Bluetooth. In your PS3's XMB, you can set up your PS3 for USB headset or Bluetooth. I have both. I still kinda sorta prefer the USB headset.

I've got a couple of USB headsets that I've used with Skype, and a Bluetooth that's paired with my iPhone... but there's lots of cheap Bluetooth sets out there. I'll probably just pick up a cheap one to pair with the PS3... or maybe just a USB extension cable for one of my hard-wired headsets.

I'm tempted to get a PS3 just to hear Bill's voice.

Heck, you don't need a PS3 for that!
Just go to:
