Last night I spent 5 hours putting together a video for my daughter's first birthday. It was surprisingly challenging. I simply used the best still photographs from about 1,500 pictures and set them to music from the CD which we put her to bed each night (Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney). The DVD I created was beautiful and I'm thrilled by the results. I can't wait to show it off at her birthday party. It ends with a text screen of "We love you right up to the moon... And Back." (The signiature line from the story.)

My eyeballs were sweating a few times during the production. Maybe I was just tired at 2:30am? :)

It's amazing the lengths that we'll go for our children. I can see that you are in deep trouble, Boar. She's only one year old, and she has you completely under her spell. Believe me, I know from experience. It doesn't stop or lessen as they older.

I'm currently planning a Hawaiian Luau party for my son's 11th birthday (his first real boy-girl party), and I had to step back and say "Enough"! It's so easy to get carried away with it.

Is it possible to love your kids too much?
