Sci Fi's "Battlestar Galactica: Razor" posted a lackluster 1.21 household rating (1,004,000 adults 18-49) for its premiere on Saturday, on par with its third season finale (1.21 household rating on 3/25/07) and just ahead of its series low numbers (1.09 on 3/4/07). Compared with the network's other Saturday originals this year, "Razor" fell behind 12 of the 19 aired thus far while a year ago (11/25/06), the premiere of "Basilisk: The Serpent King" posted a 1.4 household rating.

Yeah well, you know nobody watches TV Thanksgiving weekend. They're all eating leftovers or out shopping.
And it's not like the show was heavily promoted or anything. They only had EIGHT SOLID WEEKS of non-stop commercials on all of Uni's stations.

Wasn't American Gay Rugby on on ABC as well?
Also, Stallion Cornell (I am told) was naked in his yard working his shiny butt off.

We'd have to ask Jaeson. I believe he's mentioned he has a season pass for that on his tivo.

If you ask me, the Santa hat was a bit much.

How dare you laugh at "The Best Basilisk on Television!"

Too be serious for a moment, I was surprised by the rating, I thought it'd at least get a 1.5.
I'm now interested in the ratings for Tin Man.
Somewhere in the GE conglom, some bean-counter must be scratching his head and going "What the hell's going on here?".

Fear not. By the time skiffy posts the ratings it will be spun up to least a 1.7, maybe higher.

What made me laugh was the "It has been revealed" commercials - I mean if you had been watching the show you would have noticed - it's not like it was hidden. Ahh well - time to move on - final season and then to the next "greatest show on Televesion" ;)

Is that what they call hitting the bars for the male "cougar" these days?

It may be regional slang in your area but around hear that's known as "jjracketeering."

Pretty well where I expected it would fall. I was thinking a 1.2 or 1.3.
The real value of Razor will be in the DVD sales as it will give a fairly good benchmark of how well the fairly loyal audience that's still left watching GINO would be enticed to buy a DVD. I think Razor is one of the few projects of this kind financed for a direct to DVD release.
Overall, similar efforts have required that the project tap into a fairly large audience and hope to get a slice.
This one has hoped to grab a good portion of a small, loyal audience. If it thrives as a DVD release, that might speak well for a lot of other franchises and projects.

Why is this so hard to understand?
I mean after all, I don't like having to watch the octogenarians in the home next door having group sex, but you don't see me going to fan boards of octo-menage-boom-boom and complaining about it.

Somewhere in the GE conglom, some bean-counter must be scratching his head and going "What the hell's going on here?".doesn't GE nuke the bottom 10% of it's businesses based on performance? is Skiffy on the cusp of that or is NBCU hanging on to it so the Peacock isn't on the bottom rung next year?
***makes mental note to read entire thread first, the derailment was much more entertaining***

Hmm. They might get a better audience running old DB movies....though it'd be more fun if someone got him to be in some new ones. ;)

The spin on this makes me think the VP at work.
A few weeks ago, he told us we were NOT getting a Christmas bonus since the company started a Profit sharing venture this year. He said they aren't giving us money twice.
Flash forward to thursday: The PRESIDENT of the company says we're getting a christmas bonus early on this weeks check so we have time to use it. (Cool guy!).
Next day: VP says that it was a PRODUCTION bonus, NOT a Christmas bonus, and that we're just getting it early so we can use it for Christmas. The President just mispoke.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. The guys should work for friggin Hammer.
