Literature

Books. Even in these days of high-def digital imaging in 3-D and Surround Sound^©, there is no other medium that can convey ideas the way the written word can. And in entertainment - science fiction in particular - nothing can beat a well-written book read by an active imagination.

And that is the strength of literature vs. movies or TV. A book actively engages the imagination, allowing the reader to build in exact detail the universe the author is describing, seeing the story unfold in the mind's eye, becoming part of it as no moving picture in a theater or TV monitor could ever hope to accomplish.

So these pages are devoted to the wordsmiths who so skillfully take us to other worlds and strange universes without ever leaving our chairs.
